In this course we will look at five recent novels, with an eye toward choosing books which shy away from "literary" style, and instead embrace themes and genres which have recently captured the attention of the English-speaking world. This will be a place for guided discussion of the works, which the participants will be expected to have read prior to each meeting.

The first meeting will discuss "The Calculating Stars" by Mary Robinette Kowal.
